Mike Speicher is our Special Events Manager, Boston sports aficionado, and your go-to guy for catering, private parties, or just about any other event you want to plan at Brew Bus. Hit him up once all this Covid craziness is over with. In the meantime, check out his employee Q&A.
How did you get started with Brew Bus?
I actually replied to a Craigslist job post back in 2014 for a part time beertender position on the busses and the rest is history.
Favorite Brew Bus Beer?
Upper Decker – you can’t go wrong with a chocolate peanut butter porter
Favorite craft beer?
Green by Treehouse Brew Co.
First craft beer you enjoyed?
The first beer that got me into the industry would be Cigar City Brewing Florida Cracker Belgian-style White Ale.
Better craft beer scene, New England or Florida?
This is a tough one. There’s nothing better than enjoying a nice Hazy IPA in the Florida winter but I do miss cracking a barrel aged beer in the middle of the winter up north to warm up.
Best & Coolest event you’ve been apart of at Brew Bus?
This past year’s Heights Unites Music & Arts Festival was by far the best event we’ve put on. Between all the help from the committee members to our staff it was a huge accomplishment. It’s great to see when a whole community can come together to support the neighborhood. Although it was a tough time for the neighborhood, the coolest event we put on was the toy drive with the Tampa Bay Lightning where Steven Stamkos came by and signed autographs for everyone who came out.
What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t at Brew Bus?
I’m big into sports so if I’m not here I’m either playing golf or watching Boston Sports on TV.
What’s the coolest thing about hosting an event with Brew Bus?
The many things we offer here at Brew Bus is unique so anytime guests can leave with enjoyment, that’s important to me.
