Cooking With Beer: Candied Bacon Recipe With Rollin’ Dirty Irish Red Ale

bacon

Bacon and beer are pretty damn good on their own, but anytime you put these two things together something magical happens.

As far as food combos go, we’d have to put bacon and beer right up there with spaghetti and meatballs or PB and J. The toffee and caramel notes from our Rollin Dirty Irish-Style Red Ale shine in this beer candied bacon recipe, you may never look at either ingredient the same way again.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of thick cut bacon
  • 1/3 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup of Brew Bus Brewing Rollin Dirty Irish Red Ale

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400° F. Combine beer and brown sugar in a bowl, mix well.

Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and use a cooling rack on top. Lay bacon on rack and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and use a basting brush to generously cover both sides of bacon with the beer and brown sugar mixture.

Flip bacon and cook for another 10 minutes. Repeat this process until bacon is cooked and candied to your preference.
